everyone has a story.

everyone has a story that they bring to their birth, and everyone will have a story to carry away from their birth. my wish for all women, all over the world, is that they have a birth story that empowers them, a birth story that excites them, and gives them the strength to be the best parent they can be. all women are strong and powerful, all women deserve love and respect, and all women can have a beautiful birth story if given the right tools and support. if i could spread one message about birth to everyone it would be this:
birth is natural, birth is powerful, and birth is beautiful.

doulas:
*are professionally trained to care for women in pregnancy, labor, and postpartum
*are available for continuous emotional, physical, informational support and advocacy
* are hired by families to provide comfort, encouragement, and respectful care
*are for everyone, regardless of individual circumstances and birth preferences

families with doulas:
*greet their babies feeling secure, self-confident, and empowered
*honor the needs and experiences of birth partners
*use less medical intervention, have shorter labors, have greater success breastfeeding, and experience less postpartum depression
